FAQ

Who has access to freelancer profiles posted on this site?

FreelanceLaw was designed with the goal of more efficiently and effectively connecting law firms with freelance legal professionals.  Part of that efficiency is obtained by restricting access to the site to only qualified users.

The FreelanceLaw website was specifically designed to reduce the problem of excessive and unqualified contacts that are not likely to lead to legitimate freelance business from law firms, for example, pro per litigants, temporary employment agencies, etc.  Thus, freelancer profiles on FreelanceLaw (which do not lists neither email addresses nor phone numbers) are accessible only to registered law firm users.  FreelanceLaw checks the information from all users who register as law firms before they are approved to use the site.  If they do not qualify, their use is not approved and they are not allowed to use the site.

In an additional level of protection, contact between law firms and freelancers through the FreelanceLaw messaging system is blind, meaning when messages are exchanged, neither the sent message nor the response contains an email address.  Notification emails indicating a message on the FreelanceLaw site may not be frequent, but are most likely a qualified business opportunity.

To the extent that FreelanceLaw posts member profiles on the FreelanceLaw blog or in other marketing materials (to which freelance users consent as part of the user agreement), interested persons are directed to the FreelanceLaw website which implicates the access restrictions that have already been described.

I registered to use the site, but now cannot access my profile.  What is the problem?

1.  Double-check your login and password information and make sure you are typing them in correctly.

2.  If you have forgotten your password, click on the link to have it resent to you.

3.  If none of these work, it is possible that your profile has been administratively suspended for any of the following reasons: failure to supply a valid email address, opting out of receipt of email from FreelanceLaw via ConstantContact, or other irregularities with your profile.  We will attempt to directly contact you to correct any of these problems, but you can also contact us directly at
